Organise documents before speaking with a tax adviser.
Preparation starts before a form
Keep the tax period, business identity and relevant jurisdiction with your documents. An explanation written for another country or another year may not apply to you.
Prepare a document inventory
- Sales and purchase records for the period.
- Bank statements and reconciliations.
- Payroll information, where applicable.
- Previous filings, notices and questions for your adviser.
This is a starting point for a conversation, not a complete filing checklist. Your adviser or the relevant authority can identify what is required for your circumstances.
Use the current official source
Check dates, forms and eligibility on the relevant tax authority’s website. Do not rely on an old screenshot or a social-media summary when a filing decision matters.
